Citizen Charter

A Citizen Charter is a crucial document that outlines the rights, responsibilities, and expectations of citizens when interacting with government agencies or public service providers. It serves as a fundamental tool for promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance. Typically, a Citizen Charter provides information about the services offered, the procedures for availing them, the timeframes within which services will be delivered, and the avenues for grievance redressal. By clearly defining these aspects, Citizen Charters empower citizens, enhance the efficiency of public services, and foster a culture of citizen-centric governance, ultimately leading to a more equitable and responsive government.
